Welcome to the Basel Cricket Club

Founded in 1978, the Basel Cricket Club (BCC) is one of the oldest and most storied cricket clubs in Switzerland. The club was born out of a simple notice pinned at the Carnival Squash Club in Allschwil, where early cricket enthusiasts gathered thanks to the initiative of Ian Bigland, a Scotsman and translator at Geigy AG in Basel. From these humble beginnings—playing their first match against Bern Cricket Club on June 10, 1978—Basel CC has developed into one of the leading clubs in Swiss cricket.
